
An interrogative pronoun introduces a question and takes the place of the subject.

We limit this section to the most commonly used question words.
Consider this first example about two friends talking:

The question starting with the pronoun “who” represents the information we don’t know.
“Who” replaces Anna.
WHAT?

In this example, we want to find out more about the opening of the school.
The pronoun”what” replaces the noun “the school.”
